From ancient Eastern theology comes the belief that there is an invisible red thread that links soul mates through time. From Arab Strap comes " The Red Thread", their finest work to date. The first single to be taken from "The Red Thread" will be "Love Detective"; it will be released on January 29th. The album follows on February 26th. The seeds of discontent and misanthropy were sown some five years ago. At the time Aidan Moffat (singer) and Malcolm Middleton (guitar) were barely acquainted. Both were in separate bands and both were in Falkirk - an unremarkable town lying between Glasgow and Edinburgh. Chance and the love of one woman apparently brought them together.
