The evening kicks off with the London premiere of La Prochaine Fois by Neotropic (Ntone/Ninja Tune) who has become increasingly involved in film having provided music for the likes of Josh Ferrazzano and John Woo. La Prochaine Fois continue's Neotropic's search for emotion and earthiness in electronics, this time with a more organic and live approach that harks back to English folk tradition of Nick Drake, sideways to the post-rock experiments of Jim O'Rourke et al and forward to a new way of making electronic music. Andrea Parker will play a special, one-off set spanning all of her extensive musical output over two hours of original music. Also Warp artist Mira Calix, will join in at the Scala with an exciting set of her own brand of electronica working organic visuals into her music. WEDNESDAY 21st MARCH 2001 DAMO SUZUKI'S NETWORK- LIVE TIME: 8pm - 11pm ADMISSION: £12 advance (subject to booking fee), £13 on the door TICKETS: Available from Ticketweb / Stargreen / Damo Suzuki the former singer for the German 70's band CAN, which was one of the most innovative bands to emerge from the Krautrock genre- is back touring again under the name of Damo Suzuki's Network. Together with Jaki Liebezeit (Can , Phantom Band), Dominik Von Senger (Phantom Band, Dunkelziffer) and Matthias Keul (Dunkelziffer, Neurocheck) he founded the Damo Suzuki Band, which existed in this form from 1986 until 1990 with successful tours through Germany and Austria. Over the next four years his band adopted the name Damo Suzuki & Friends, which played one show almost every week, but only in and around Cologne, with an ever changing group of musicians and many surprise guests joining him on stage. It wasn't until 1997 that he first played under the name of Damo Suzuki's Network, the line up for this exclusive concert will feature Mandjao Fati, Uwe Jahnke, Jens Kuchenthal and a rare appearance from Michael Karoli, also of legendary German band, CAN.
